NEW PROJECTS!

We are proud to announce that we have 2 brand new projects that will go into pre-production this Fall!

We have been working fiercely on a full length play and feature film. It will be the first for us since Black Latina the play and Memoirs of a Black Latina were both short pieces. So we are extremely excited and pleased to share these new development with you. As usual we will post pics for you all to see, enjoy and follow along with us on our next journey's.

To give you some background we are keeping the titles unknown to the public for now. The play is about 4 couples from different age ranges, different backgrounds in careers, lifestyles and so on and their paths in their relationship and where they are going. This piece will be the first of its kind at the Movement where we arent speaking in terms of our experiences but rather showing the talent of 8 incredible Black Latino actors. The film is about 2 sisters from a Latino father and African American mother and how their skin complexion (one sister being darker then the other) throughout their lives play a role on who they become and ultimately puts them at odds with not only their family but with each other.

We can't wait to begin and continue with the force of the Movement!

I think that's fantastic and will provide an opportunity for Afro-Latinas to play who they are. I had a very hard time finding a black skin (dark as chocolate) Latina for the role in my play that I prooduced and directed at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe. I had to use an Americana. In fact, for all roles for Afro-Latinas were played by Americanas. I will begin fundraising on Kickstarter to film the play for DVD, as requested by those out of town. Since it deals with alot of social issues like intra-racism, colorism, classism, etc. it was more important to provide it to a larger audience than just moving it to a larger venue. So again I will be faced with the problem in casting Afro-Latinas for my Santeria driven mystery/thriller.

If you are a stage actor who is a fast study and looks early 30's, chocolate black skin, attractive, and don't mind appearing in bra and panties for a few minutes for the lead role drop me a line.
